Estimate employer penalties under Saudi Arabia's Wage Protection System (WPS / Mudad). Know your rights if your salary is late — or your liability as an employer.

احسب غرامات تأخير الرواتب على أصحاب العمل وفقاً لنظام حماية الأجور (Mudad).
The Wage Protection System (WPS), implemented via the Mudad platform, requires all private sector employers to pay salaries electronically and on time every month.
| Violation | Penalty | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Salary paid late (after 10th) | SAR 3,000/employee/month | Per month of delay, per employee |
| Salary not paid at all | SAR 3,000/employee/month + escalation | Government services suspended after 20 days |
| Non-WPS payment (cash/cheque) | SAR 3,000 per instance | All payments must go through approved banks |
| Below 80% payroll compliance | Services restricted | Work permits and iqama renewals blocked |
| Salary 20+ days late | Legal action + inspection | Ministry of HR (HRSD) may escalate to court |
If your employer hasn't paid your salary on time, you can take action through official Saudi government channels:
Under Article 90 of Saudi Labour Law: salary must be paid at least once per month. Under WPS (Mudad), the practical deadline is the 10th of each month. For contract end payments (final settlement), the deadline is 7 days after the contract ends.
